  • To request a site use reservation at Fort McKavett, please read the following information and complete the form below. Please submit this form at least one month before your planned visit. Site staff will contact you to confirm, customize, and finalize your reservation. All requests are subject to availability; requests are not finalized until payment is received.

    Types of site use reservations at Fort McKavett SHS:

    1. After-Hours Access - Gain access to the grounds of Fort McKavett for your astronomical viewing and photography use. $25/person with more than 2 weeks’ notice, $50/person with two weeks or less notice.                                                                                                            
    2. Day-Use Facility - Host your organizational meeting or conference in our historic Schoolhouse. $50/day for 1-20 persons, $100/day for 21+ persons.                                                                                                                                                                                   
    3. Overnight Camping - Stay in our historic Barracks No. 4 or on the grounds with your troop/pack or chartered organization. $50/night for 1-20 persons, $100/night for 21+ persons.

    Note: Overnight camping at Fort McKavett is ONLY available to formal or chartered organizations (scouting groups, school organizations, military units, and/or civil/service organizations, etc.).

     The site is NOT open to individuals or the general public for overnight camping.
